Leonard Nimoy Tribute

The Flying Pincushion extends its deepest regrets at the passing of a great man, Leonard Nimoy.  While he was best known for playing Spock in the original Star Trek, the man himself was far more.  A poet, a proponent of science and logic, and a damn good human in general.

Leonard Nimoy influenced generations of young minds for the better, and taught all of us a great deal both through the character of Spock and by simply being himself.  I still remember watching his great show, In Search Of, and of course, Star Trek.  Leonard all at once showed us what humanity can accomplish and at the same time through the character of Spock, made us look long and hard at what being human really means.

Leonard has now gone where all of us must boldly go one day.  May your soul find solace in the stars which you taught us are never really out of reach.  You lived long and prospered, and you will be missed, but never forgotten.
